Blacktop Catering was built on a passion for great food, unforgettable experiences, and bringing people together through bold flavors and diverse cuisines. Founded by two lifelong friends, our team has been in the food business since 2015, bringing over 30 years of combined experience in the food and catering industry.
What started as Blacktop Smash, a smash burger catering concept inspired by our Armenian and Middle Eastern roots, has grown into a full-service catering experience offering multiple cuisines and menus for every type of event.
Our menu now brings together signature smash burgers and Armenian-inspired favorites, including Soujouk and Basturma burgers, alongside Armenian & Middle Eastern cuisine, Mexican favorites, Italian cuisine, and classic crowd-pleasers. From kebabs, shawarma, hummus, and Armenian salads to tacos, burritos, handmade pizzas, fresh pastas, fries, chicken tenders, and more, we offer something for everyone.

Our menu goes far beyond classic American smash burgers. While our roots are in Blacktop Smash, we’ve expanded our catering experience to bring guests a diverse selection of cuisines and bold flavors. From our signature Soujouk Burger, inspired by traditional Armenian spiced sausage, and our Basturma Burger, featuring the rich flavors of Armenian cured beef, to Armenian & Middle Eastern specialties, Mexican favorites, handmade pizzas, fresh pastas, and classic crowd-pleasers, there’s something for everyone.
Our roots in Armenian-inspired smash burgers have also been recognized by L.A. TACO and Eater LA. In 2020, Eater LA highlighted our North Hollywood food concept for bringing a unique Armenian influence to LA’s smash burger scene, specifically noting our use of halal meat and Armenian sujuk in our burger blend and the strong following we had built throughout the San Fernando Valley.
